also Davite Silvia, secretary to the Sunia: «È il tentativo di espellere il ceto medio dai quartieri popolari per trasformarli definitivamente in ghetti di cui disinteressarsi. Tra l'altro, i canoni pagati da coloro che rischiano l'espulsione sono i più alti, e dunque quelli su cui si regge l'intero sistema. Invece di espellere queste persone, sarebbe meglio cacciare gli abusivi ».
Difende il provvedimento l'assessore regionale alla casa, Mario Scotti: «La nostra norma proporziona il canone alla vera situazione economica di chi abita nell'alloggio, calcolando quindi anche le rendite finanziarie, considerate solo per il 4%, e le proprietà immobiliari, per altro considerate soltanto per il 20% del loro valore ai fini Ici». E dunque, prosegue l'assessore, «la Regione va incontro a chi ha davvero bisogno e lo protegge dai furbi e da chi ha goduto per anni di ingiusti privilegi».
